Target Information
Putative Polycomb group (PcG) protein. PcG proteins form multiprotein complexes required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of homeotic genes throughout development. They act via methylation of histones, rendering chromatin heritably altered in its expressibility. ASXL2 is involved in transcriptional regulation mediated by ligand-bound nuclear hormone receptors such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG), acting as a coactivator and enhancing adipocyte differentiation-inducing activity through recruitment of acetylated and methylated histone H3.
