Target Information
This gene encodes a GTPase-activating protein that belongs to the rhoGAP family, which regulates small GTP-binding proteins. GAP family proteins are involved in signaling pathways that control cytoskeletal organization. The DLC1 gene functions as a tumor suppressor in several cancers, including prostate, lung, colorectal, and breast cancers. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative promoters and splicing.
