The Human CALR (CRT) Simplex ProcartaPlex™ Kit measures CALR (CRT) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, enabling creation of custom multiplex panels using Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantitate all targets simultaneously via Luminex instruments.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other fluids.

Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create unique spectral signatures identified by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX). Similar to a sandwich ELISA, each spectrally unique bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead, allowing reagents to remain free-floating. Detection instruments use dual lasers—one for bead identification and one for quantification of RPE fluorescence, proportional to protein concentration. This enables profiling of more targets using less sample in comparable time to standard ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
