Target Information
The TRIM3/BERP protein belongs to the tripartite motif family, also known as the RING-B-box-coiled-coil subgroup of RING finger proteins.
It contains three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, and B-box type 2) and a coiled-coil region.
The protein localizes to cytoplasmic filaments and interacts with the tail domain of myosin V, suggesting a role in myosin V-mediated cargo transport.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified.
