This antibody detects Cytochrome P450 2C8, 2C9, 2C18, and 2C19.
Target Information
CYP2C9 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases that catalyze reactions involved in drug metabolism and in the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. CYP2C9 localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by rifampin. The enzyme metabolizes many xenobiotics, including phenytoin, tolbutamide, ibuprofen, and S-warfarin.
