PAK1은 MAPK8 및 RELA를 포함한 신호전달 경로의 조절에 관여하는 PAK kinase 계열 단백질로, CDC42와 같은 소형 GTPase 결합에 의해 활성화됩니다.
PAK1IP1은 PAK1의 N-말단에 결합하여 CDC42에 의한 PAK1의 특이적 활성화를 억제하며, 리보솜 대소단위 조립에 관여할 수 있습니다.
