Target Information

This gene encodes a protein involved in the import of peroxisomal matrix proteins and localizes to the peroxisomal membrane.
Mutations in this gene are associated with Zellweger spectrum peroxisomal biogenesis disorders, including neonatal adrenoleukodystrophy and Zellweger syndrome.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
