Antibody detects endogenous levels of total THOC5.
Target Information
THOC5 is a component of the THO subcomplex of the TREX complex, which associates specifically with spliced mRNA. It binds to mRNA upstream of the exon-junction complex (EJC) and functions in mRNA export via interactions with THOC4 and the cap-binding protein NCBP1. The TREX complex is essential for export of Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) intronless mRNAs and virus production. THOC5, together with THOC4, participates in NXF1-NXT1 mediated nuclear export of HSP70 mRNA and may be involved in granulocyte and adipocyte differentiation.
