Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

The zinc transporter ZIP5 (SLC39A5) is a member of the divalent ion transporter family. Zinc is essential for cellular growth, development, and differentiation. ZIP5 is closely related to ZIP4 and is expressed in tissues such as intestine, pancreas, liver, and kidney. Unlike ZIP4, ZIP5 localizes to the basolateral membrane in kidney cells and its activity is not downregulated by zinc repletion.
Recent studies indicate reciprocal regulation between ZIP4 and ZIP5, with ZIP5 mRNA translation decreasing and ZIP5 protein being internalized and degraded under zinc deficiency conditions.
