Target Information
C1QL3 may regulate the number of excitatory synapses formed on hippocampal neurons, without affecting inhibitory synapses. It plays a role in glucose homeostasis through the AMPK signaling pathway, stimulating glucose uptake in adipocytes, myotubes, and hepatocytes, and enhancing insulin-stimulated glucose uptake. In hepatoma cells, it reduces the expression of gluconeogenic enzymes G6PC and PCK1, thereby decreasing de novo glucose production.
