Target Information
Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) is a secreted protein selectively expressed in adipose tissue, liver, and placenta. It plays various roles in vivo, including adipogenesis, angiogenesis, and carcinogenesis. Its expression is regulated by nutritional and hormonal factors. ANGPTL4 induces a strong pro-angiogenic response independent of VEGF and is expressed in hypoxic human tissues and multiple cancers such as liposarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and renal cell carcinoma.
