Target Information
EFEMP1 유전자는 세포외 기질 당단백질인 fibulin 계열 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 반복적인 EGF-like domain과 C-말단 fibulin-type domain을 포함하며, 악성 교종에서 발현이 증가하여 종양의 공격성과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. 또한 이 유전자의 변이는 Doyne honeycomb retinal dystrophy와 연관되어 있습니다. 동일 단백질을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이가 보고되었습니다.
