Target Information
PGRMC2 (Progesterone Receptor Membrane Component 2), also known as DG6 or PMBP, is a single-pass membrane protein of the cytochrome b5 family (MAPR subfamily). Expressed in sperm, it may function as a steroid receptor and participate in the progesterone-dependent sperm acrosome reaction. PGRMC2 shares about 50% sequence identity with PGRMC1. Loss of PGRMC2 gene is associated with metastasis in uterine endocervical adenocarcinomas, suggesting its role in metastasis suppression.
