Target Information
Lysosomal enzymes containing one or two mannose 6-phosphate (man6P) moieties are transported within cells by cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptors (CI-MPR, ~300 kDa). These receptors participate in both biosynthetic and endocytic cycles, shuttling between the trans-Golgi network, endosomes, and the plasma membrane approximately every 3 hours. CI-MPR binds both man6P and IGF-II simultaneously and exists also as a ~240 kDa soluble truncated form circulating in serum.
