Target Information
FOXI1 belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors characterized by a distinct forkhead domain.
Its precise function is not yet determined, but it may play a critical role in the development of the cochlea, vestibulum, and embryogenesis.
Mutations in FOXI1 may be associated with the common cavity phenotype.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
