Target Information
Desmoplakin (DSP) is a major high molecular weight protein of the desmosomes. It plays a key role in organizing the desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into discrete plasma membrane domains and anchoring intermediate filaments to the desmosomes.
Mutations in Desmoplakin are associated with Keratoderma and cardiomyopathy.
