Target Information
The MLX gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factor family. These proteins form heterodimers with Mad proteins and are involved in cell proliferation, determination, and differentiation. MLX may diversify Mad family function by associating selectively with Mad1 and Mad4. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
