Background
Transferrin receptor protein 1 (TFRC)은 peptidase M28 family에 속하며, 세포 내 철 수준에 따라 IRP1 및 IRP2와의 결합을 통해 조절됩니다. 각 서브유닛은 transferrin 또는 HFE 분자 1개를 결합하며, HLA class II DR1 항원과도 결합합니다. SH3BP3 및 STEAP3과 상호작용하여 적혈구 전구세포에서 TFRC의 엔도사이토시스를 촉진합니다. 철 흡수는 transferrin receptor가 결합된 리간드의 수용체 매개 엔도사이토시스를 통해 이루어지며, 엔도솜 산성화 과정에서 철이 방출됩니다. 이후 apotransferrin-receptor 복합체는 중성 pH에서 세포 표면으로 재순환됩니다. TFRC는 적혈구 및 신경계 발달에 필수적이며, HFE 단백질은 transferrin과 경쟁적으로 결합하여 T 및 B 세포 증식을 조절합니다.
