Target Information
CDK11 is a member of the cyclin-dependent kinase 11 family, essential for eukaryotic cell cycle control. It is closely related to CDC2L2, a nearly identical gene in the same chromosomal region. CDK11 acts as a negative regulator of normal cell cycle progression, and its expression is regulated during murine embryogenesis. Its activity is coordinated with p34 (cdc2) during the cell cycle. CDK11 may contain tumor suppressor regions affected by chromosome 1p36 modifications in neuroblastoma and can be cleaved by caspases, playing roles in cell apoptosis.
