CARD9 단백질은 caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD)을 포함하는 CARD 단백질 패밀리의 구성원입니다. CARD는 caspase 패밀리 내 CARD 함유 단백질의 활성화 또는 억제에 관여하는 단백질 상호작용 도메인으로, 세포 사멸 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다. CARD9은 BCL10과 선택적으로 결합하여 NF-kappaB 활성화를 유도하는 신호 복합체의 분자 스캐폴드 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 여러 가지 alternative splicing 변이가 보고되었으나, 그 전체 길이는 명확히 정의되지 않았습니다.
