Target Information
p47, also known as NSFL1C, UBX1, UBXD10, or UBXN2C, is a 370 amino acid protein localized to both the nucleus and Golgi apparatus (specifically Golgi stacks). It contains one SEP domain and one UBX domain.
p47 forms a ternary complex with VCP (involved in vesicle fusion) and Syntaxin 5, modulating VCP ATPase activity. It is essential for Golgi stack fragmentation during mitosis and reassembly afterward.
Phosphorylation during mitosis inhibits p47-Golgi interaction, ensuring proper Golgi stack formation and cisternal regrowth. Human p47 shares 89% sequence identity with mouse, indicating conserved function. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
