Target Information
This gene encodes a multifunctional protein that binds ubiquitin and regulates activation of the nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signaling pathway. The protein acts as a scaffolding/adaptor molecule with TNF receptor-associated factor 6 to mediate NF-κB activation in response to upstream signals. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding similar or distinct isoforms have been identified. Mutations in this gene are associated with sporadic and familial Paget disease of bone.
