Target Information

Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein found in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and certain presynaptic structures in the cerebellum.
PSD-95 contains three PDZ domains, an SH3 domain, and a Guanylate Kinase (GuK) domain. It participates in clustering NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at synaptic membranes in CNS neurons.
Interactions occur via C-terminal sequence motifs (T/SXV) or PDZ-PDZ domain associations, involving other neuronal proteins such as beta-1 adrenergic receptors, serotonin receptors, sodium channel subunits, and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).
