Target Information

MAP4K2 (GCK) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that activates the JNK pathway. It is expressed in many tissues but restricted to germinal center cells in lymphoid follicles, where it may participate in B-cell differentiation.
This kinase may also regulate vesicle targeting or fusion. It can be activated by TNF-alpha and specifically activates MAP kinases. MAP4K2 interacts with TNF receptor-associated factor 2 (TRAF2), which is involved in the activation of MAP3K1/MEKK1.
