Target Information

As part of the KICSTOR complex, ITFG2 functions in the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 signaling pathway. It recruits the GATOR1 complex to lysosomal membranes, enabling its interaction with GATOR2 and RAG GTPases. Functions upstream of the RAG GTPases and is required to negatively regulate mTORC1 signaling in the absence of amino acids. Without the KICSTOR complex, mTORC1 remains constitutively localized to the lysosome and activated. The complex is also likely involved in regulation of mTORC1 by glucose.
