Target Information

TRPM8 is a receptor-activated non-selective cation channel involved in detection of cool sensations, activated by cold temperatures below 25°C, icilin, eucalyptol, menthol, and intracellular pH modulation. It is permeable to monovalent cations (Na⁺, K⁺, Cs⁺) and divalent cation (Ca²⁺).
TRPM8 expression is mainly found in prostate epithelial cells, moderately expressed in normal prostate tissue, and elevated in prostate cancer. It is also expressed in nonprostatic tumors such as breast, colon, lung, and skin, but rarely detected in corresponding normal tissues.
