Target Information
MCG10 (also known as PCBP4) is a member of the KH-domain RNA-binding protein family, also referred to as alpha-CPs. These proteins bind RNA with specificity for C-rich pyrimidine regions and are involved in post-transcriptional regulation. MCG10 is induced by p53 and DNA damage, leading to apoptosis and G2-M cell cycle arrest. Decreased expression of certain isoforms has been observed in lung cancer, suggesting a tumor suppressor role. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms have been identified.
