Target Information
The p95 gene (identical to NBS1 and nibrin) is part of the hMre11/hRad50 complex involved in double-strand break repair. Mutations are associated with Nijmegen breakage syndrome, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by increased cancer incidence, cell cycle checkpoint defects, and radiation sensitivity. This protein complex provides a direct molecular link between DNA repair and cell cycle control.
