Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
Cytokeratins range in molecular weight from 40 kDa to 68 kDa and have an isoelectric pH between 4.9 and 7.8.
Expression of cytokeratin subtypes varies by epithelial cell type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state.
These expression patterns are useful in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable tools in tumor diagnosis, cancer research, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
