Target Information
Complement component 4-binding protein (C4BP)는 항체가 매개하는 보체 활성화의 고전 경로를 억제하는 혈장 당단백질입니다. C4BP는 7개의 알파 체인과 1개의 베타 체인으로 구성된 이황화 결합 다중체 단백질로, C3beta inactivator의 보조 인자로 작용하여 C3beta 절단을 촉진하고, C4betaC2alpha (C3 convertase)의 붕괴를 가속화합니다. 일부 Streptococcus 균주는 M 단백질 계열의 Ig-binding 표면 단백질을 통해 C4BP의 결합 부위에 결합하여 보체 활성화를 억제함으로써 세균의 옵소닌화 및 식균작용을 감소시키는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
