Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a basic structure of four polypeptide chains: two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa and lambda, each ~22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda light chains have variable and constant regions, distinguishable by antigenic properties of the constant region.
The typical ratio of kappa to lambda is 70:30.
Antibodies to kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignant proliferation.
