ATG101은 자가포식(autophagy) 과정에 관여하며, 세포 단백질의 대량 분해를 담당하는 자가포식소체-리소좀 경로를 통해 세포 성장 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
영양 결핍 시 세포 내 영양분을 보존하고 세포질 구성 요소의 정상적인 회전을 유지합니다.
TOR(rapamycin 표적 단백질)에 의해 음성 조절되며, ATG13, ULK1, ULK2, FIP200과 복합체를 형성하여 자가포식 조절에 필수적인 역할을 합니다.
ATG101은 ULK1과 상호작용하며 자가포식 유도에 필수적입니다.
