Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve an antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The BTRC gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by the ~40 amino acid F-box motif.
F-box proteins are part of the ubiquitin ligase complex SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box), which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified as:
- Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: Contain various interaction modules or no recognizable motifs
The BTRC protein belongs to the Fbws class, containing multiple WD-40 repeats. It is homologous to Xenopus bTrCP1, yeast Met30, Neurospora Scon2, and Drosophila Slimb.
It interacts with HIV-1 Vpu, linking CD4 to the proteolytic machinery, and associates with phosphorylated IκBα and β-catenin destruction motifs, functioning in transcriptional regulation through activation of the NF-κB pathway and inhibition of the β-catenin pathway.
