THAP6 유전자는 약 36,528 염기로 구성되어 있으며 인간 염색체 4q21.1에 위치합니다. 염색체 4는 인간 유전체의 약 6%를 차지하며 약 900개의 유전자를 포함합니다.
이 염색체에는 헌팅틴(Huntingtin) 유전자(헌팅턴병 관련), FGFR-3(난쟁이증, Muenke 증후군, 방광암 관련), Ellis-van Creveld 증후군, 메틸말로닉산혈증, 다낭성 신장병 관련 유전자 등이 위치합니다.
