Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
hCG beta is the beta chain of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a 40 kDa glycoprotein hormone produced by trophoblastic cells of the placenta beginning 10–12 days after conception.
hCG consists of alpha and beta subunits associated non-covalently. The alpha subunit is similar to those of pituitary hormones (FSH, LH, TSH), while the beta subunit confers biological specificity.
hCG supports maintenance of the corpus luteum and progesterone production during early pregnancy.
Diseases associated with hCG dysfunction include gestational trophoblastic tumor and hydatidiform mole.
