AMPK의 비활성 홀로효소는 두 개의 조절 서브유닛과 두 개의 촉매 서브유닛으로 구성된 테트라머입니다. cAMP는 네 개의 cAMP가 결합된 조절 서브유닛 이합체와 두 개의 자유 촉매 서브유닛으로 분리시킵니다. 인간에서는 네 가지 조절 서브유닛과 세 가지 촉매 서브유닛이 확인되었습니다. PRKACB는 Ser/Thr protein kinase 계열에 속하며 AMPK의 촉매 서브유닛입니다.
