Target Information
E3 SUMO-protein ligase with preference for SUMO2 and SUMO3. Facilitates UBE2I/UBC9-mediated sumoylation of target proteins. Plays a role in SUMO2 modification under DNA damage and proteasome inhibition stress. Required for MCM4 sumoylation. Shows no activity with SUMO1. Preferentially transfers an additional SUMO2 chain onto SUMO2 consensus site Lys-11. Negatively regulates SMAD4-mediated transcriptional activation in TGF-beta signaling and inhibits EP300-mediated histone H3 acetylation at Lys-9. Involved in transcriptional regulation of AR targets.
