Target Information
FAM3C is a 227-amino-acid secretory protein belonging to a novel cytokine-like family with sequence similarity to the FAM3 family. It contains a GG domain, hydrophobic leader sequence, and an N-terminal signal peptide. FAM3C exhibits cytokine activity and is expressed ubiquitously in most tissues. It shows altered expression in pancreatic cancer-derived cells and is implicated in inner ear development, potentially involved in cell differentiation and proliferation during embryogenesis.
