Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the C-lectin family, proteins that possess collagen-like sequences and carbohydrate recognition domains. This protein functions as a scavenger receptor, a cell surface glycoprotein that binds carbohydrate antigens on microorganisms to facilitate recognition and removal. It can also recognize oxidized phospholipids and may participate in removing oxidatively damaged or apoptotic cells.
