Target Information
This gene encodes a protein that binds to the C-terminus of adenovirus E1A proteins. This phosphoprotein acts as a transcriptional repressor and may play a role in cellular proliferation. CTBP1 and the closely related CTBP2 can dimerize and interact with polycomb group protein complexes involved in developmental gene expression regulation. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
