Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells.
It carries blood group M and N specificities and provides cells with a mucin-like barrier that minimizes aggregation between red blood cells.
CD235a acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Hsa, a Streptococcus adhesin.
