The Human BLC (CXCL13) Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures BLC (CXCL13) protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (not using pre-configured Multiplex Panels), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of a target protein. This enables simultaneous quantitation of multiple proteins using a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, with results obtainable in approximately four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample.
Luminex beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, generating spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex xMAP detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

In a multiplexed assay, each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target protein. Bound proteins are identified with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in ProcartaPlex assays is conjugated to a bead, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution. Detection is achieved via dual-laser systems (e.g., Luminex 200), distinguishing bead signatures and quantifying RPE fluorescence proportional to protein amount.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays can profile more target proteins using significantly less sample and time compared to traditional sandwich ELISA methods.
Multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
