Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW) depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain, acting at GABA-A receptors, which are ligand-gated chloride channels.
Chloride conductance of these channels can be modulated by agents such as benzodiazepines that bind to the GABA-A receptor.
At least 16 distinct subunits of GABA-A receptors have been identified.
This gene encodes subunit alpha-4, which is implicated in autism etiology and may increase autism risk through interaction with the gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor beta-1 subunit.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
