Target Information
CCR7 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, belonging to the chemokine subfamily. It is induced by Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) and mediates EBV effects on B lymphocytes. CCR7 is expressed in blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and intestine, particularly in lymphoid tissues and activated B and T lymphocytes. It regulates migration of memory T cells to inflamed tissues and promotes dendritic cell maturation. The chemokine ligand CCL19 (ECL) is a specific ligand for CCR7. ESTs have been identified from blood, embryo, lymph node, and thymus. C–C chemokine receptors such as CCR1–5 and the Duffy antigen are crucial for T cell chemotaxis and phagocytic cell migration to inflammation sites.
