Target Information
이 유전자는 desmocollin 단백질 하위군의 구성원을 암호화합니다. Desmocollins와 desmogleins는 cadherin 유사 막관통 당단백질로, desmosome의 주요 구성 요소입니다. Desmosome은 세포 간 접합부로 전단력에 저항하며, 기계적 스트레스가 높은 세포에서 높은 농도로 존재합니다.
이 유전자는 염색체 18번에 위치한 다른 desmocollin 가족 구성원들과 클러스터를 형성합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia-11과 관련이 있으며, 여러 유형의 암에서 단백질 발현 감소가 보고되었습니다.
