SLC6A9 (GlyT1)은 고친화성 Na⁺ 및 Cl⁻ 의존성 신경전달물질 수송체 패밀리에 속하는 글리신 수송체입니다.
GlyT1(SLC6A9)과 GlyT2 두 아형이 있으며, 주로 미주부 뇌 영역의 신경교세포에 존재합니다.
Glycine은 중추신경계에서 억제성 신경전달물질로 작용하며, SLC6A9 단백질은 시냅스 간극에서 glycine을 제거하여 신호를 종료시킵니다.
관련 질환으로는 Glycine Encephalopathy With Normal Serum Glycine 및 Infantile Glycine Encephalopathy가 보고되어 있습니다.
