Target Information
CCKBR (Cholecystokinin Receptor 2) is a G-protein coupled receptor for gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCK), regulatory peptides of the brain and gastrointestinal tract. This protein acts as a type B gastrin receptor with high affinity for both sulfated and nonsulfated CCK analogs. It is primarily found in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. A misspliced transcript variant including an intron has been observed in cells from colorectal and pancreatic tumors. Expression of CCKBR has been reported in brain, colon, pancreas, stomach, thyroid, and various cancers.
