Olamkicept acts as an IL-6 trans-signaling inhibitor by selectively binding to the soluble IL-6 receptor (sIL-6R), preventing the formation of the IL-6/sIL-6R complex and subsequent activation of the gp130 receptor, thereby inhibiting downstream inflammatory signaling pathways.
