Target Information
VENTX is a member of the Lymphoid-enhancing factor/T-cell factors (LEF1/TCF), a high-mobility group of transcriptional factors essential for cell fate determination during early embryogenesis and ontogenesis.
It belongs to the Vent family of homeodomain proteins and acts as a novel LEF/TCF-associated transcriptional modulator.
VENTX is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells and may function as a transcriptional repressor involved in mesodermal patterning and hematopoietic stem cell maintenance.
It has also been suggested to play a potential role in hematopoietic malignancies.
