Target Information
SLCO1B3 (OATP8, OATP1B3) is a member of the Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptides (OATPs), which are sodium-independent organic anion transporters mediating the uptake of a wide range of structurally diverse endogenous and exogenous compounds including bile acids, hormone conjugates, peptides, toxins, and therapeutic drugs.
SLCO1B3 is specifically expressed in the liver under normal conditions and is also observed in cancer tissues such as colon, prostate, and pancreas.
The molecular mass of SLCO1B3 varies depending on glycosylation status (65 kDa for deglycosylated form, 120 kDa for fully glycosylated form).
